Jennifer Rowlands
Jennifer Rowlands is an internationally acclaimed jewellery designer, illustrator, and educator with over two decades of experience in the industry. Her career began with an apprenticeship at the bench, where she developed foundational skills that would later earn her numerous awards and global recognition. Jennifer's work is distinguished by her emphasis on hand-drawn illustrations, innovation, and a commitment to experimentation.
Andrew Pickering
With over 35 years of experience in the jewellery industry, Andrew Pickering began his career as an apprentice production gem setter and rose to become a specialist in 18ct gold, platinum, and precious gemstone setting for the largest manufacturer in Europe.
He has taught a wide range of stone setting courses at Birmingham’s prestigious School of Jewellery, working with beginners, jobbing jewellers, retailers, and custom makers.
One of his most popular courses, Tips of the Trade, was known for delivering practical, impactful results in just five days. Students often experienced breakthrough moments as they overcame long-standing setting challenges under Andrew’s guidance.
Throughout his career, Andrew was commissioned by jewellery companies across the UK to train their staff in both setting and pre-setting techniques for manufacturing. His training helped streamline production processes, reduce waste, and improve outcomes in commercial workshop settings.
In addition to his teaching and consultancy work, Andrew also spent 15 years as both a manufacturer and retailer in the UK, creating bespoke pieces for private clients.
Andrew’s teaching philosophy centres on simplicity and adaptability. He believes that beautiful results can be achieved with minimal tools, and his hands-on, low-stress approach is tailored to suit individual learning styles—empowering both emerging and experienced jewellers to find techniques that work best for them.
Alaine Anson
An award-winning jewellery designer with a passion for designing exquisite, one-of-a-kind pieces that blend artistry, innovation, and timeless elegance. With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, Alaine specializes in designing bespoke jewellery that tells a story—each piece a perfect fusion of creativity and precision.
With 15 years of experience in jewellery design, her work has been recognised for its originality, elegance and excellence, earning the prestigious 2023 at the Diamond Guild Australia awards in the industry for her design Orionid, in the Design for Diamond section, she not only won the award for her category but also won People’s Choice amongst all the prestigious categories, the first ever to win People’s Choice in Design.

In 2023, Samantha launched ETHEREAL - House of Jewellery Design, further expanding her educational initiatives. This platform underscores her dedication to providing accessible and contemporary design education, enabling students worldwide to enhance their skills and creativity.
